A good time was had by all!

Last weekend we took a trip up to Flag to see our good friends the Wiltbanks, and to have some family pictures taken. I was excited to get out of the heat and finally have some pictures taken that had some fun fall colors in the background. I just knew it would be a great trip... until we got there and I stepped out of the car into 42 degree weather! Now, I know I complain about the heat and how I wish it would get cooler, but not that much cooler! I thought I was going to die!Until, we went up onto the mountain and experienced 38 degree weather with a nice cool breeze blowing making it feel like 25 degree weather. Then I knew I was going to die (I'm a total whimp, I admit it)! At least when we stripped down to long sleeve shirts and pants for the actual photo shoot the boys were lovin it and totally cooperative. Ok, not really. They weren't having any of it!! IT WAS COLD! So we took a few less than perfect shots and bundled back up as fast as we could. It definatly didn't go the way I had thought or hoped it would (family pictures rarely do). But, we made great memories with some great friends, had some good laughs and despite the cold, we really did enjoy the beautiful scenery. So all in all it was worth the trip and the discomfort. :)

Thanks for having us Janae and Whitney! Even though we had a great time, we probably won't be back any time soon (nothing personal). Call us next July-ish!

Goose Egg!!

Today after our nap Parker woke up and said that he needed to go to the bathroom. I heard him get up, go potty, flush, wash his hands and wash his hands some more. After a couple of minutes of hearing the water run I wondered "what is taking him so long?" as soon as this though entered my mind I heard a huge thump on the floor followed by a loud cry. I jumped up and ran to the bathroom and when I picked Parker up off the floor this is what I found... HOLY GOOSE EGG!

He later told us that after he washed his hands he decided he wanted a drink of water, so of course in his mind the easiest way to get a drink was not to ask for a sippy cup, but rather to climb on the counter top and get some water out of the faucet. So he climbed up to get a drink and then slipped off when he was done and landed right on his head on the tile. I feel so bad that I didn't check on him sooner!

Ok, I know I've been a total slacker and it's been over a month since my last post. Time is just going by too fast! But I really have tried to get some posts up. I have three drafts saved that I just need to finish writting and organizing the pictures. So... until that happens (I'll do it tomorrow!! Yeah right, that's what I've been saying the last 4 weeks) here are some random pictures that we have taken with Nate's new camera that he now loves more than me. :)

I have had so many people ask me who took the pictures of my boys. And, although I would love to take credit for the great pictures , I'm nowhere near this good with a camera (although I wish I were). It was my friend Brittney and she is AMAZING! Happy Birthday Parker Bug!!

I can't believe how fast time flies! Yesterday I just kept thinking how strange it is that we have only had Parker for three years and yet it seems like we were never without him. He brings so much happiness to our family and we feel so blessed to have him. He makes us smile every day and as you all know he is ALL BOY!! There is never a dull moment when Parker is around and we wouldnt have it any other way!

Sammy's 1st birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY our sweet Sammy boy! I can't believe that our baby is one and getting soooo big! He has become the sweetest little guy and man is he a mama's boy! It's been a rough but fun first year and Sam has brought so much fun into our home. I love watching him interact with Parker, they are so cute together and I'm so glad they love eachoother so much!

As our tradition goes, the birthday boy gets his very own cake. Being the anti-eater that he is, he was skeptical at first, but after he realized how much fun it was, he went to town...

He got cake into every opening possible.
